Blue

Blue like…the sky, the ocean,
waves in Cancun smashing against the shore

Blue like…the wind, the waves coming onto the beach,
swishing like a washing machine

Blue like…cotton candy at the carnival, cold like ice,
raspberries artificially flavored

Blue like…horseshoe crab blood, silky like my dog, wet like water

Blue would take over the world and make everything peaceful.

Blue.

Rage

Red like flames and fire, a blood-red face, a bullfighter’s cape.

It happens when you can’t understand something,
when you’re sad,
when you’re fighting with a bully or sibling.

Sounds like a nuclear bomb and smells like a rotting corpse.

Rage.

Class Poem - Period 4/5

Like a bright red rose,
I feel like Egyptian cotton,
velvet and the softest red silk.

I smell like the newest scent of spring.

Like the pricks on a rose,
I hurt myself and others.

A stupid yet adventurous squirrel
running in front of a car.

Soft and loud at the same time,
I am like a breeze.

Luscious like soft melted and expensive chocolate.

Caring like a puppy, loyal and cute.

My soul is pink, bubbly and bouncy.

Happy go lucky most of the time,

I am always in your face, seeking attention.

I bring spirits up when they are low

And bring suns up when they are setting.

Like a flow of dreams

Like a dance to a soft song

Like a click of a wind chime

This could turn into a bang.

I would be a lacrosse stick

Leathers thrashing about.

The cold shaft of strings in your hands.

My net is where the ball lands.

Lacrosse is my only purpose.

Like a dark gray fox

Wise and sneaky

Always pushing my luck.

I’m a sound of the forging of swords

Clanging against the armor of the enemy

Sliding against swords

Like rubbing wood to make a fire

War music in the background

Fighting

Fighting

Fighting

I am lime green

Like the seventies

Sting ray bikes

And banana skateboards

I can be as black as the night lurking in dark alleys

Sometimes I am red like an uncontrollable fire

You don’t want to fight me;

I won’t stop until the forest is gone

I am a firefly always showing up when least expected

Changing colors and moods

In the blink of an eye

Always hearing but never really listening

I would be red like a fire

I would be calm until you feed me with anger

Then I will become an uncontrollable fire

That will burn down buildings

The Leo of August

Strong in the heart

Right in decisions

Braver than most

Fast to catch a zebra

And fast to catch an antelope

Just keep the thorns away from my paws

My pride can be broken easily

I am the sound of thunder

I am loud and can be

Heard all around

When I am angry

You better watch out

Because I will come and get you

I am sweet and nice

Like a friendly dog

But I change moods into a hyena,
icious and strong

Just like a chameleon changes colors

I am pink

Bubbly

Loud

Obnoxious

Wild

Fun

Sweet

But mostly very tiring

I am yellow

I am energetic

Warm

In another galaxy

Intelligent and bright

I am like a pig that rolls in the mud

Sleeps all day

Waiting for food

I live in the zoo waiting to be freed

Waiting for someone to rescue me

I think I am a turtle

Someone that hides

When they get scared

But likes to go slow

And take a look at life

I am yellow and bright as the sun

I am as sweet as yellow lemonade

I am as beautiful as a bright sunflower

I am warm as a yellow and red fire in a fireplace

But don’t get too close; I can get angry easily

I don’t mean to hurt you, but you came too close.

Black like the midnight sky

The dog howls at the moon

The only light in the night

Everyone is a long long slumber

Until day comes when the black goes away

Out comes the light of day

I am red like a fire hydrant

That’s ready to explode

With anger

No one could have
