Soundings East is an international journal of literary fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry published by the English Department of Salem State College, in historic Salem, Massachusetts.

We read year-round. Prose submissions should not exceed 10,000 words in length, and all submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. If we are unable to publish your work, we will recycle the manuscript unless you request otherwise and furnish us with a self-addressed, stamped manuscript-sized envelope for returning it.
