The Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival is quickly approaching and this may be your best opportunity to come watch your home town team perform and compete against some of the most talented teen poets in the area. Connecticut, Boston, Lowell and Providence have all been invited to participate & face off against ye olde home town squad, and we're hoping to have a packed house to send them off in style!

Open Mic Night in Key West

Every Wednesday night from 7:30-9:30 (sign-up starts at 7:15) at Daddy Bones BBQ in the Conch Plaza on the boulevard.  All poets, singers, musicians, songwriters, and other talent of all ages are welcome to come down and show off their talent.  Due to space limitations, we will be featuring only soloists and duos.

We welcome poets, musicians, artists and more.  Since these are family friendly, no drug & alcohol events, we ask that profanity and adult subject matter in performances be curbed for the evening.  Requested donation is $2.00 per musician, $3.00 per spectator and a $10.00 family maximum.

Starts at 7:30 and goes until 9:30All ages are welcome and we ask that each artist be sensitive to the audience and what may or may not be appropriate. Beyond this request, we want to keep censorship to a minimum, and we support freedom of speech and expression.  Artspeak will feature another experimental element, improvisational jazz. We’re interested in the marriage of poetry and music, words and rhythm. If you are a jazz musician interested in playing, please come!

Each month The Yale Bookstore hosts a Thursday Poetry Night (4th Thursday).  One or more featured poets read from their work after which there is an Open Mic during which audience members may read original poetry or favorite poems by others. Poetry Nights will start at 6:00pm and close no later than 8:30pm.
